Joya de Nicaragua Cuatro Cinco

Cigar Reviewed: Joya de Nicaragua Cuatro Cinco

Smoked at: Wetherington, Ohio

Joya de Nicaragua Cuatro Cinco is a box pressed Nicaraguan puro commemorating Joya’s 45th anniversary. The seamless, oily wrapper is a dark Shade Grown Habano using barrel aged tobacco. The band is black and white with the standard circle Joya logo and a prominent “45/”

Cedar, nutmeg/cinnamon spice, a dash of pepper, earth, leather, milk chocolate, ceamy vanilla, almonds, and dried orchard fuirt (black cherries/plums) with some herbal and floral notes. A puff of licorce and a couple of puffs of citurs here and there. Ir’a medium-full bodied and strength.

Construction: open draw with maybe a touch too much resistance but acceptable, thick smoke output, fairly even burn line, and solid grey ash that held until tap off at an inch or more.

The Cuatro Cinco renewed my faith in Joya de Nicaragua after a couple of bad experiences with the construction with Antanos. The last one was packed so tight it was wrapped like an airport sandwich. But all went well with the Cuatro Cinco. So…Happy Anniversaru amd Happy Cinco de Mayo in Octubre! I enjoyed this smoke.
