Cigar Reviewed: Jewel by Manna Cigars
Smoked at: Jamaica, Queens, NY
As Queens resident I love names of the cigars in Pomonok Selection, they all named after street in Flushing, Queens. Jewel named after Jewel Avenue.
Jewel is a Barberpole with Connecticut Shade and Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrappers, Dominican binder and Dominican San Victor and Olor filler.
Very good construction.
I would prefer the draw a little tighter but it's sill good.
The burn is excellent with sharp, slightly wavy burn line.
Medium gray ash is a little flaky but straight and strong. I smoked whole cigar without dropping the ash.
The cigar has flavors of cedar, coffee, mild earthiness, herbal and floral notes, mild fruity sweetness.
The retrohale has blend of spices with allspice and nutmeg in the lead and wood.
There are no major flavor shifts though in the second half sweetness stars to fade away while mild pepper is coming out. On the retrohale in the second half the allspice starts shifting toward pepper.
The cigar started as mild to medium body and closer to the end became solid medium.
Excellent cigar to enjoy with a cup of coffee.
