Smoked: Macanudo Cafe Ascot

Picture me sitting here typing with a grin on my face. Why? Because I am delighted with this little gem of a stogie. Or, is that stogie-ette? Man, is this thing ever good.

Occasionally I like a cigar in the morning. I have enjoyed the little 4 x 28 Punch Slim Panatellas as a first cigar of the day. Although they are delicious, they live up to their name and pack a little too much of a punch for that time of day. For me, they’re more suitable for a quick afternoon smoke if I don’t have time for my usual robusto or toro.

A couple weeks ago I picked up a tin of 10 of these 4.1875 x 32 Macanudo Ascots. Knowing how much I like the Macanudo Café Hyde Park (5.5 x 49) and the Prince Philip (7.5 x 49), I thought I’d give the Ascot a try. This morning, I did just that. I was not disappointed. Exactly like its larger siblings, its wrapper has a wonderful old-school aroma. It takes me back to the 60’s and 70’s. And its flavor profile remains true to the line.

Paired with a mug of ice coffee, it’s my new go-to morning cigar. Cheers!
