Field Reporting from LA, A solid boxy surprise.

Cigar Reviewed: AVO Syncro Nicaragua

Smoked at: The King Cigar Lounge 1117 Hope St. Los Angeles, CA

First up: Shout out to Mike the proprietor of King Cigar Lounge. This has been my second home for the last week while I've been to LA on business. I know this is about reviewing this stick, but I wanted to give him and the team some much deserved props.

While looking through Mike's humidor, I found this stick. I don't normally do box pressed cigars, but I also do usually see box pressed tubos either. That said after meeting the Synchro Nicaragua Toro, I might need to rethink my preferences. Sigmund Freud might have an opinion about me, but I like a biggie cigar. This stick has a nice girth, feels good in the hand and not skimpy at all. Upon lighting, you're treated to an amazing clean draw. Hints of light mild earth, accent a mild tasting smoke that would be a great smoke for a newbie, yet satisfying for us old hands. As you get deeper, you get a little leather and a little spice, but mine of it distracts, and all of it is enjoyable.

Let's face it, and I've said this in other reviews, if you take up cigar smoking, you are indulging in a luxury. It's always wonderful to find a stick that delivers. I am very impressed with AVO and this stick. It's well worth giving it a try if you find it at your local shop.
