Don't be afraid of the dark...

Cigar Reviewed: CI Legends by Drew Estate Black

Smoked at: Martinsburg, WV

The newest member of the Cigars International Legends by Drew Estate line is the Black, a dark and mellow Corona.

Flavorwise, this is a sweet cigar with a cocoa vibe. It has a smooth draw, and enjoyable to smoke. So from that end, I am not disappointed in this stick at all.

Two critical items, one is that this only comes in a "thin" variety. I am one who prefers gordos or toros or something beefier. Sadly, you can't get this any thicker than 44RG. The other is the tip of the cigar is slightly angled, which I realize is by intentional design, but I hate to remove any more of a cigar than I have to, and the angled tip encourages this stick to burn unevenly from the start. I realize these are preferential items on my part, but I look at smoking cigars as a luxury, so I'll never judge anyone else from their preferences as I figure if you have the money to buy a stick, you should be satisfied with your investment. Would I buy these again? Maybe. Especially if CI ever dropped a gordo version. The taste is there, so that's the hardest part in my book.
