Disappointing

Cigar Reviewed: La Gloria Cubana Serie N Maduro

Smoked at: Charleston, SC

I have loved all the La Gloria Cubana sticks I have tried since starting my cigar journey a couple short months ago...the Serie R, Serie R Maduro, and the Serie R Esteli Maduro. So I had high expectations in this Serie N with Maduro wrapper. The reviews talked about burn, sweetness like black cherries and earthy tones. I got the earthy, woodsy tones and a hint of sweetness at beginning but rest of time was uneventful. The draw was good...the smoke was great...the burn was great. The wrapper on mine started peeling apart as soon as I lit it...did not notice when I took it out of wrapper but it popped all over upon lighting. There was another area halfway up the body where the seam looked raised or loose. Also the band was not aligned properly....had me wondering if this was a Monday morning cigar or a fake to be honest...as the La Gloria sticks smoked before have always been exceptional in construction and results. I am hoping this was a bad stick from mishandling or something at vendor and not indicative of La Gloria Cubana as their Serie R is my fav of all time still. I will give it another try in a few weeks....
