Dark roast Macanudo!

Cigar Reviewed: Macanudo Sumatra

The Macanudo Sumatra Robusto starts with a nice caramel note that quickly turns into dark coffee, bitter chocolate, and roasted nuts. It’s box-pressed, medium-bodied, smooth at first, and has an easy draw. The Sumatra wrapper brings a slight bitterness, while the U.S. Broadleaf binder adds that roasted, nutty edge. I really enjoyed the first half, especially the lingering dark roast coffee finish, but after the second third the flavors fade and it becomes a bit harsher. Overall, not a bad cigar at all!
