Cigar Reviewed: Partagás Cortado

Shoutout to the testing lab for selecting me again to review this Cortado by Partagas.

Appearance - a bit veiny with visible seams.

Feel - tightly rolled, smooth wrapper but lumpy overall construction.

Aroma - walnuts, campfire

Draw - open, a little on the loose side.

1st third- I almost thought this was a sweetened tip cigar but the sweetness on the lips faded quickly. I’m getting sweet notes on the retrohale but tons of pepper lingering in the back of the throat. Burn line is razor sharp and the ash held on for about an inch. So far this cigar is the very definition of sweet heat. This cigar also has a loooong finish as the pepper has not left the back of the throat

2nd third- 28 minutes in and I’m starting to get dry woody notes. The pepper has started to subside a little but it’s still present. Burn still fine, no touch ups needed, still a loose draw so I have to be careful.

Final third - the pepper has completely faded. The sweetness remained but other than that there has been no other transitions.

Overall - this was a nice smoke, started off as full bodied but from the 2nd third to finish it was mild-medium. Would recommend to someone that desires peppery sticks.
