Cigar Reviewed: Gurkha Cellar Reserve Edición Especial (18-Year)
Smoked at: St charles
This one was from a couple of nights ago my third cigar that day, but it definitely deserved its own post. After dinner at the restaurant, I stopped by the lounge and decided to light one up in the car with my wife. She went with one of the Nubs, and I chose the Gurkha Cellar Reserve Edición Especial (18-Year) easily one of the best choices of the day.
Right off the bat, the draw and burn were smooth. It wasn’t overly strong, which worked out perfectly for my flavor palette after the drinks I’d had earlier spicy cocktails with habanero and other pepper blends. The cigar balanced that heat out nicely with a creamy body and subtle spice tones that came in and out.
The flavor was consistent from start to finish creamy, a touch of oak, and a soft sweetness underneath the spice. The price was solid too, which made the experience even better. It’s one of those smokes that doesn’t try too hard but still delivers in every way.
Funny thing is, I never really leaned toward Gurkha cigars before maybe because I always associated them with golf outings more than lounge sessions. But after this one, I’m impressed. I’ve started looking into more from their line, especially that black Op series pack of 20 that’s been catching my eye.
Overall, this one hit all the right notes. Great after-dinner cigar, relaxing vibe, and a reminder that sometimes the ones you least expect end up surprising you the most. Definitely recommend giving it a try.
