CAO Flathead Steel Horse features Nicaraguan, Dominican and Honduran fillers, a Brazilian Arapiraca binder, and a brown, slightly oily Connecticut Habano wrapper. The band is an olive grey metallic hue with a silver CAO Flathead logo and the name “Steel Horse” in smaller lettering below it.

Cedar, earth, leather, grass/hay, pepper. and mixed nuts. Spice notes of nutmeg and cinnamon pop in from time to time during the second third. Coffee jumps into the mix as well as a hint of semi-sweet chocolate. Grade it medium bodied and strength.

Impressive open draw, just the right amount of resistance, reasonably even burn line, abundant smoke production, and solid light grey ash that held to nearly an inch before tapping off.

I like this cigar a lot. Still partial to the 642, but the Steel Horse is a very good version of the Flathead.

Johnny Walker Swing is one of the best blended scotch whiskeys I have ever tasted. Too bad it's impossible to find these days. We'll keep bringing out this bottle until it's bone dry. BTW: The rounded base actually allows the bottle to swing without tipping over when you set it on a table.
