Smoked: Caldwell Lost & Found Pepper Cream Soda 10th Anniversary

Smoked at: West Chester, Ohio

Caldwell Lost & Found Pepper Cream Soda 10th Anniversary robusto celebrates, obviously, 10 years of Pepper Cream Soda. You need a magnifying glass to read the embossed lettering on the all white band. The secondary band explains perfectly: “2012-2022.”

The flavor profile is what you would expect from a Pepper Cream Soda. All the elements are there – pepper, cream and…something more like a splash of seltzer with a sweet creaminess. There are occasional hints of chocolate, coffee and those Caldwell aged tobacco vegetal & mineral notes.

The flavors really opened up during the second third. Ah, there’s the snap, crackle and pop of pepper, cream and soda – well, sweet seltzer. It’s just a bit smoother and subdued than the flavors in the original green band.

It has a slightly tight draw, but I can live with it. Otherwise, this stick has excellent construction - solid tight white ash held tight to an inch and a half, very consistent even burn line and decent smoke output.

I’m a big fan of the Pepper Cream Soda and, although I still prefer the green band stick, I am pleased with the experience of both the Broadleaf and the 10th Anniversary Pepper Cream Soda. This is a very good cigar.
