Caldwell Lost & Found Bangers

Cigar Reviewed: Caldwell Lost & Found Bangers

Smoked at: West Chester, Ohio

Smoked the Caldwell Lost & Found Bangers toro with a Habano wrapper. Didn’t get off to a good start. 5 minutes into the smoke I noticed a crack in the wrapper the length of the San Andreas fault. Now I’ve already upset Gavin Newsom and Nancy Pelosi. Wouldn’t be the first time. The ash held on tight so there’s a plus.

The flavors are minimal - wood, earth, hay and a faint note of nuts (walnuts maybe) and the hard to describe taste of aged tobacco ever present in Lost & Founds.

This cigar is drying out my throat. I’m drinking water like a marathon runner. I can picture the neighbors lined up, leaning over the backyard fence offering me cups of water. I must have consumed half my body weight in water.

I can’t finish this stick. The wrapper is unraveling at the last third point. There is nothing but basic flavors, no transition and no complexity to this thing. Have to send my regrets…and a rating of 1 for poor construction, very minimal flavor and no real enjoyment to the smoke.

What a waste of a perfect autumn afternoon on the back porch. The weather was perfect. The cigar was not.

Maybe I need to smoke a Lost & Found Rashers with the Bangers to fully appreciate the Irish breakfast flavors Mr. Caldwell had in mind.
