Cigar Reviewed: HVC Hot Chocolate Cake
I've smoked quite a few from HVC and especially have the Hot Cake line stashed in my humidor. What's special about this one is the Privada Cigar Club exclusive 6x50 vitola chocolate cake version for $9.50 a stick. You don't have to be a member to buy from Privada if you want some of their rare cigars but this one is part of the Limited Cigar Association or LCA line. If you're interested in finding them, Google LCA cigars and that should help you find the nearest LCA shop. Wow a shameless plug for Privada. Brian gonna own me for this ?.
Enough of the bull feces, this delightful stick features a Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper, Nicaraguan Corojo ’99 binder grown in Jalapa and Nicaraguan fillers including a leaf of Corojo 2006 Maduro with notes of chocolate and hint of raisin. I would go more into detail about this one but honestly I suck at all the fancy pants lingo. I smoke a stick and if I like it, I burn it into memory and my tracker app. The burn lines were pretty much flawless, with a tad bit of spices on the the retrohale. The flavors stayed consistent through the smoke but I put this one down with maybe 1.5" left because I had to run errands. Perfect pairing would be a medium roast coffee with hints of chocolate earth vibes.
