Cigar Reviewed: Kristoff Sumatra
I’ll preface this with saying that I’ve not had many Kristoff cigars, but I happened upon a sampler and thought I’d give it a shot. This is the third I’ve tried from this particular sampler and each has been a unique delight.
Now, to what we’re really here for. The Sumatran wrapper is a new one for me - I’m intrigued. It’s a bit more leather-like and very distinct in that regard while napping in my humidor.
While I expected it to be a little more complex than first glance would suggest, I was surprised at the medley of rich and sweet together. It is a consistent and pleasant flavor down to the nub.
While I’m not certain it will be a regular in my rotation, it offers a compelling case for those days you just want something different.
I happened to pair this with a glass of Woodford as I was finishing a bottle in my cabinet. Given another shot with this Kristoff, I might lend my glass to something a little more unique to match the smoke of the night.
