A Surprising Experience

I smoked this in the 6x52 Robusto.
This stick is unique for me in a few ways... I tend not to favor sticks with a super open draw, or sticks primarily comprised of Nicaraguan tobacco. But this was stellar. I also tend to stop once i get to about the 25-30% mark on the stick.... But this one I took down to the last 1/3ish or an inch!
It started off simple and airy with soft earth and chocolate. About 10 minutes in it began to develop some nutmeg, cinnamon, and pecan flavors. by the time the first 1/3 of the stick was gone the chocolate and earth had moved to the background of the building notes of baking spice and pecan.
As I neared the last 1/3 the smoke got richer- more velvety and the pecan note took precedence but all the other notes were still present. This pecan note settled in a pleasantly bitter pecan skin kinda thing... It reminded me of the way a freshly cracked Texas pecan tastes when the meat is still a little bit tender. Also some dried apricot came up thanks to some retrohale.
Now having just finished it my palate is left with that nice dried apricot flavor. Highly recommend this stick. I will definitely be going to grab some more of these guys.
