Cigar Reviewed: CAO Flathead

Beautiful presentation right from the start: a dark, oily, and silky wrapper with an inviting aroma of dried fruits, aged rum, and spices. The cold draw confirmed notes of both dark and yellow dried fruits.

The first third delivered a very balanced profile with light wood, yellow dried fruits, cassis, and almonds. Draw was perfect and highly responsive, producing rich, creamy smoke.

In the second third, the cigar evolved nicely into refined spices and a smooth, elegant woodiness—reminding me of a dry sauna. The fruit notes became more subtle, while the smoke remained dense and creamy.

The final third introduced a pleasant pepper note along with an interesting astringent sensation, similar to cashew fruit. Strength increased, but remained well-integrated. Toward the end, the cigar heated up slightly.

Overall, an excellent experience—complex, evolving, and very well balanced for a full-bodied cigar.
