CAO is releasing a new cigar timed to coincide with the nationwide celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary. The CAO America 250th Anniversary is a limited-edition release that reimagines the brand’s original CAO America blend as a true American puro.

Originally introduced in 2007, CAO America became known for its distinctive barber pole wrapper combining U.S. Broadleaf and Connecticut Shade. With the America 250th Anniversary, CAO builds on that foundation by extending U.S.-grown tobacco throughout the entire blend, resulting in a cigar made entirely from American-grown leaf.

CAO America 250th Anniversary Blend Breakdown

According to CAO, the cigar features a barber pole wrapper of U.S. Broadleaf and U.S. Connecticut Shade, a U.S. Havana Connecticut binder, and a filler composed of U.S. Broadleaf and Pennsylvania tobaccos.

“CAO has built its reputation on exploring tobaccos from around the world,” said Cory Beardsley, Brand Manager for CAO. “With America 250th, we focused on what can be achieved using tobacco grown right here in the U.S. It’s a cigar that stays true to what made the original America stand out while bringing a new level of precision to the blend.”

CAO America 250th Anniversary Pricing and Availability

The cigar is presented in a 5.5 x 55 box-pressed Robusto and will be available in boxes of 10. It will begin shipping to retailers nationwide in May of 2026 and will have a suggested retail price of $9.99 per cigar.
