Don Aguilera (Total Wine exclusive, made in collaboration with Rocky Patel)

Picked this one up at Total Wine just out of curiosity looked interesting and I hadn’t seen it before. The flavor profile leans heavy on nutty and almond tones, almost overpowering at times. Definitely a coffee-style smoke, but I personally would’ve liked a bit more spice or kick to balance it out. Draw and construction were fine, no real issues there.

Could be that it’s been sitting around on the shelf for a while, which might’ve mellowed the profile a bit. Not a bad cigar by any means, just not something I’d reach for often.

Rating: 6.5 / 10 — decent but not a standout.
