This Ashton smokes a lot lighter than it's appearance. The dark, oily wrapper may hint at a darker, heavier cigar but that is not how I tasted it.
The profile was on the mellow side of medium and the flavors hinted at the oily, leathery notes but not with a punch, just a tickle.
The construction was A+ and that adds a lot when you are smoking a cigar; not worrying about re-lights or helping a draw just lets you enjoy the cigar for the cigar.
Overall, Ashton has been a solid brand for me. Individually, they may not be my favorite cigars to smoke but I know what I'm getting each time and don't have to worry about inconsistency or the stick falling apart in my hand.
