Room 101 Hit & Run

Smoked: Room 101 Hit & Run

Room 101 Hit & Run features a tan Ecuadoran habano wrapper with a few thin veins. It’s produced by Robert Caldwell for Room 101. There’s even a Caldwell vibe to the cigar band logo. The Room 101 flower logo shows an “0” in the 101 that looks like the old British coin from the Caldwell logo. Full bodied, full strength. Hey, it’s a Matt Booth-Robert Caldwell collaboration so I had to try one.

Flavors include oak, almonds, leather, chocolate, espresso with occasional notes of cream, vanilla, and caramel (kicks in big time on the second third). The flavor profile changed and added spice and pepper after the initial run. The taste became harsh and a little bitter during the final third. It left me parched, guzzling water. I liked the flavors, but between the strength and the harshness the cigar was a bit much for me by the time I put it down.

Nice cool draw, firm white & grey ash held on well through the end of the smoke. It was a little flaky when ashing. The smoke output was light by my standards.

I’d give it a 3.6 except that In the world of Cigar World (from the Department of Redundancy Department) I have to give it a reluctant 4.
