For generations, Europe represented a fantastic market for tobacco consumption, even if it produced relatively little tobacco itself. However, in recent years, cigars with tobacco from Europe have entered the mainstream cigar industry. Cigars like CAO Italia and Macanudo Emissary España and France have garnered high ratings and interest from the cigar community.

European cigars typically contain tobacco from Mediterranean climates where it’s possible to grow large amounts of premium tobacco. These places include, but are not limited to, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, and the Balkans. It’s difficult to make generalizations about cigars from Europe (in part because there are still not many of them in the US), but that may change in the years to come.
