Cigars that have the Tasting Notes of Whiskey

Whiskey and cigars go together wonderfully, so it’s no surprise that plenty of cigars have whiskey notes. Cigars with whiskey notes tend to have rich, nuanced blends. Whiskey cigar notes have an innate sweetness, and they typically complement hints of spice, sweetness, or even dried fruit. Of course, “whiskey” is a broad category in and of itself with a ton of variation in flavor. So a cigar that tastes “peaty” like Scotch may not be that similar to a cigar with bourbon notes that may skew toward flavors like vanilla. 

Some cigars also contain tobacco that is aged in whiskey barrels. While some flavor is imparted in this process, these cigars tend to boast notes like wood, oak, or cedar as well. 

Lastly, cigars that are infused with whiskey or bourbon flavor will have the most overt whiskey notes.
