The chilling moose review

Cigar Reviewed: Chillin' Moose Chillin' Moose

Smoked at: St charles

Tried the Chillin’ Moose the other night as more of a random pick from my batch, just something small for the 20–30 minute drive home after a birthday party. It ended up surprising me. Construction was solid, the burn held the whole way without touch-ups, and for a budget stick it really smoked better than I expected.

Flavor-wise it opened with a nutty character and settled into leathery undertones, which is pretty consistent with what others say about this cigar. There’s a touch of earth and a little cocoa in the background, nothing too bold, but enough to keep it interesting. Retrohale brings a light pepper note, though not overpowering. On my palate it came across a bit strong at times, but not in a bad way just enough to remind you it’s more than a casual gas-station cheapie.

The burn time caught me off guard. I figured it would last 20–30 minutes, but it stretched closer to 35, which was perfect for the drive. I paired it with just a soft drink and it held up well, but I’d probably recommend it after a meal since some of the flavors hit heavier on an empty stomach.

Overall, it’s a simple, straight-forward cigar that definitely punches above its price tag. Not something I’d expect to be my regular go-to, but for the cost and the experience, I can’t complain it was a good smoke that fit the moment.
