Smoked: Tatuaje Capa Especial
Smoked at: Fairfield, Ohio
Tatuaje Capa Especial uses Nicaraguan filler, a Nicaraguan binder and is covered in an oily tan Ecuador Sumatra wrapper with a good amount of veinage.
The flavors pop from the first puffs after lighting it up – oak, milk chocolate, light roast coffee dominate with a dash of spice including a touch of pepper. Almonds, cream and nutmeg enter the fray during the second third. Walnuts and other mixed nuts join in during the final third along with an occasional puff of floral and lemony citrus. This Tat is quite balanced with a few transitions and nice complexity. It’s medium-full bodied and strength.
Construction: good open draw, erratic burn line, ash a bit flaky, and generous smoke production.
A round of applause for Pete Johnson. Once again he has produced an excellent Tatuaje. Nice touch using the Ecuador Sumatra wrapper this time around.
