Today I went with a Rocky Patel Vintage 1992. I’ve heard it’s a decent, solid pairing with coffee, so I wanted to give it a try since I had one laying around. Paired it with a nice iced coffee.
So far, it’s burning really well and smoking smooth. Getting some espresso and cocoa notes that work nicely with the coffee. Nothing overpowering, just an easy, enjoyable smoke.
Also finally finished the Oliva Advent Calendar felt like it was never ending. My only downfall with it is I wish there was a little more variety. Obviously it’s Oliva, but it would’ve been cool to see more of the different Oliva lines in there. This one leaned more toward size differences, and then a day or two later you’d get the same cigar in a different size. Which does change flavors and tones a bit, but still more variety would’ve been nice. I get that Oliva is limited with certain batches.
Either way, I’d love to see other companies do Advent calendars the way Oliva did it being able to scan and go day by day to learn about each cigar was actually pretty cool and different.
Overall, everything’s smoking good so far and it’s been a solid, laid-back pairing.
