I’ve been smoking the CAO Consigliere for nearly 20 years now, and it has remained my all-time favorite every step of the way. Not only does it pair beautifully with Italian food (and pretty much everything else), it always smokes consistently well—excellent draw, even burn, and no blemished sticks I can ever remember. The flavor is rich and complex, with smooth notes of espresso, dark chocolate, cedar, earth, and a touch of spice and sweet caramel on the retrohale that keeps it interesting from start to finish. Its bold yet balanced profile of coffee, nutty and woody nuances, and subtle warm sweetness is exactly why it’s such a satisfying smoke for me. It’s true top-shelf quality every time and one cigar I trust completely.
