Plasencia Reserva Original

Smoked: Plasencia Reserva Original

Smoked at: West Chester, Ohio

Plasencia Reserva Original is a Nicaraguan perfecto with a pigtail and a nipple on the foot. The pigtail was removed with no problem – whew! The cigar sports three gold and white bands - a primary band announcing it’s a Plasencia Reserva Original, a narrow secondary with gold on white lattice and a footer.

Flavors: cedar, earth, spice, pepper, roasted almonds & peanuts, dark roast coffee, and cocoa. There’s a lot of flavor right from the initial puffs. A vanilla-ish creaminess emerges on a few puffs during the second third. It’s a balanced and complex medium-full bodied and strength stick. There is a nice aged tobacco taste involved. It’s marketed as an organic cigar but I didn’t recognize anything unique about the flavors due to that. Guess my palate is not refined enough to appreciate organic tobacco.

The construction on this stick was flawless. The burn line was dead even, grey ash held impressively well, the smoke production was solid, and the draw was perfect.

I found the Plasencia Reserva Original Perfecto an enjoyable smoke. I was very impressed with the construction and a bit surprised at the medium bodied delicacy of a cigar with so much flavor.
