Smoked: Padron 2000
Smoked at: West Chester, Ohio
The Padron 2000 robusto is a Nicaraguan puro with a Sun Grown Maduro wrapper. Yes. It’s the first cigar in what the car companies in the 1960s called “the low price field.” But hey, it’s still a Padron. And a terrific smoke any time or any day, in my humble opinion. The Padron “Thousand Series” 2000 is filled and bound with Nicaraguan tobacco, of course, with an oily toothy sun grown maduro wrapper with some veins showing.
Flavors: oak, earth, leather pepper spice, coffee, milk chocolate, cream, caramel, almonds, and raisins. There’s not a lot of transition but there’s a lot of flavor. It’s consistent and balanced. You know – a Padron! Nicaraguan tobacco at its best. It’s medium bodied and medium strength start to finish.
Construction: Flawless.
Conclusion: Hey, it’s a Padron!
