Macanudo Emissary France

Cigar Reviewed: Macanudo Emissary France

Smoked at: Lincoln, IL

Now this is NOT what I normally am drawn to. Nicaraguan leaf is more my lode stone however, an excellent smoke and one I would gladly pick up.

I initially paired this with a Mexican lager (it was 91 degrees, Limerick Brewing, Lincoln, IL) but I switched to an Octoberfest (yes, yes I know it jacks with the pallet but my notes didn't change).

Gorgeous wrapper on the foot as well as a beautiful band. (It had better be after all the aging the leaf went through!)

Cold draw is very mild

Slightly nutty flavor on front

First 1/3

Very leather forward with oak barrel woody notes with a slightly salty finish

So far the draw has been tight, but not restricted, burn is very even and smoking very well.

2/3

Leather is not nearly as pronounced with more of a nutty and woody front with the salty coming forward more.

Holding ash very well

Still a nice leather draw with a nutty retrohale

Last 1/3

Back to very leather forward

Still a decent salt and wood present

Oaky leather moving forward again.

Unfortunately, it went out in the last 1/4 (an inch left) so I allowed it to pass with distinction and grace.

Excellent mild smoke, my wife asked if I had onions for supper out with the guys. LOL
