light but right

Cigar Reviewed: CAO FASA Sombra
Smoked at: Indianapolis
A nice natural sweetness with hints of coffee, a little earth. There's a subtle black pepper that pokes it's head through on the palate here and there.
On first light I was hit with a little bready grahm cracker note but that quickly faded away. During the first and 2nd third things were pretty light. Hints of strong black coffee was the primary flavor I was pulling out. The retrohale was giving off a sweet hay note with a little creaminess mingled in here and there.
Halfway point and final third is where it really woke up and started performing! Hints of toasted mashmallow, coffee, cream and a nougat note all mingling together.
There's hints of a dinner roll breadiness on the retro along with sweet cinnamon notes.
I was digging these flavors so I went and poured myself a small glass of larceny Bourbon to pair with it to see how it would pair. Definitely a good choice. I usually don't pair drinks with my cigars but it's the 4th of July so what the heck!
The Bourbon pairs well with the flavors coming out of this cigar. I think coffee or Dr. Pepper would also be good pairing, maybe even a root beer or cream soda would be nice.
Overall it's a good cigar but it really only shines on the last half of the cigsr. I think they should shorten it by 1 and 1/2 inches so you can get the best flavors out of it. The first and the beginning of the 2nd 3rd leave you wanting more out of it, bit once you're past the halfway mark, it turns into a solid stick.
I still prefer the FASA noche over this one but I would smoke it again
