La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull intrigued me when it was first released. Hey, it’s an LFD and Andalusia is a part of Spain I have always wanted to visit. The Bull is a Salomon that includes Dominican filler, a Dominican binder and a slightly oily smooth Ecuador Corojo wrapper. You got to love the gold and green band. It exudes Spanish tradition with a matador and Picasso inspired writing of “Andalusian Bull.” The “LFD” identification is written on the matador’s red cape. Someone find me a copy of Herb Alpert’s first hit “The Lonely Bull.”

Flavors: cedar, spice/pepper, chocolate, musty earth, leather, nuts and coffee. There is an occasional underlying herbal, hay and grassy note. I detected a touch of berries and citrus on a few puffs. The retrohale includes wood, coffee and the requisite pepper although it is mild. It’s medium-full bodied and strength that builds from medium to medium-full by the finish.

Construction: draw was a bit tight but Perfect Draw handled that, reasonable smoke production, decent burn line and ash that held on for dear life.

Although not my usual choice in a vitola, the LFD Andalusian Bull burned nicely and was a very enjoyable smoke. Flavors abound, balanced and complex.
