Cigar Reviewed: Punch Knuckle Buster Maduro

Smoked at: Fort Worth, TX

I received this toro maduro cigar from the Testing Lab for review. I straight cut it and paired it with a double espresso.

The cigar is dark with some veins in appearance and an oily feel to it.

After toasting and lighting it the draw was perfect for me with just the right amount of resistance. My first tastes were black pepper, hay, and a sweetness of caramel.

The first third of the cigar smoked very balanced with a bit more sweetness coming through, maybe some black molasses. This lasted until the final third where the black pepper took a more prominent role.

Throughout the smoke, the burn remained even with a light grey to white ash. At no time did I have to re-light or touch-up and there was no unravelling whatsoever. The ash remained solid throughout until I tapped off and the ash came off clean. The burn remained even.

I would say this is a full-bodied cigar without being overpowering and a definite win for Punch cigars.
