E.P. Carrillo La Historia E-III

Cigar Reviewed: E.P. Carrillo La Historia

Smoked at: Dallas, TX

I really looked forward to this cigar. By all accounts it should have been a rich, lush, and vibrant puff from beginning to end, a style that E.P. Carrillo is known for, and it did not disappoint. Ernesto has been making cigars for more than 50 years and puts out some exceptional blends.

Size: Churchill 6 7/8 x 54

Filler: Nicaragua

Binder: Ecuador

Wrapper: Mexican San Andres

Country: Dominican Republic

Visual: medium brown, slight brown paper sack feel, tight almost invisible seams, minimal veining, a beautiful double band at the heel and light blue ribbon at the foot.

Nose: hay or grassiness, cedar, and some earthiness

Cold Draw: definite earthiness on the cold draw, a sort of damp earthiness

Light: Cocoa, earth, leather, and some nuttiness

I enjoyed it with a wonderful glass of Blacklands Texas Pecan Brown Sugar Bourbon and it was a great combination.
