CAO Amazon Basin 2024 & 2025

Cigar Reviewed: CAO Amazon Basin

Smoked at: Downriver Detroit, Michigan

Priced fairly, these limited edition cigars disappear within a month of their release. People who've tried them and know they are worth the money, are waiting with baited breath for the day of their release. I know, I've been doing so for the past two years.

They do not need to rest or age. They are perfect as soon as they arrive - or "ROTT."

I compared the 2024 to the latest 2025. They are both long lasting cigars. You should ensure you have enough of your day set aside to relax and take the time necessary to enjoy these smokes. If I have two hours, I bring out an Amazon Basin. They burn evenly, the draw is without issue, and the construction is solid. I didn't smoke the tobacco bands. Some people claim they do. I don't see the appeal - as I'm confident high quality tobacco wasn't used to form them.

Brief tasting notes: Both have a noticeable, welcomed, earth flavor. The 2024 has a little more sweetness than the '25. Wood, spice, fruit, cocoa, and earth notes throughout make them both a genuine treat to enjoy. As I mentioned, smoke them upon arrival. I've noticed the 2024s remaining in the box have lost a little bit of their flavor. Not much - and if you're not paying attention and taking notes, you may not even realize it.

The CAO Amazon Basin has earned all the hype. Great cigars. Recommended. I'm looking forward to the 2026.
