Caldwell 22 Minutes To Midnight (TB)

Smoked: Caldwell 22 Minutes To Midnight

Smoked at: West Chester, Ohio

Many Caldwell aficiandos claim the series beyond the the King, Queen, Standard and Blind Man series are subpar and I would agree that many of the Lost & Founds blends were probably lost intentionally - they were never meant to be found – but don’t turn your back on the sticks outside the tetralogy until you try the Caldwell 22 Minutes to Midnight.

This is a very complex medium body cigar. A variety of spice,.a touch of pepper that sometimes blasts through but doesn’t overwhelm, some sweet notes with a backdrop of wood, creaminess, a few moments of cocoa, leather, earth that includes an almost slate taste to it. I kind of like that. Similar to the slate you might taste in some red wine.

Perfect draw throughout. Nice burn line start to finish. Held a tight ash throughout, A few touchups but that may be me. As my friend Edward often told me, I “don’t know how to smoke a cigar.” Since he now works for Drew Estate, do I really have an argument?

A like this cigar a lot. Kudos, Mr. Caldwell! This is one righteous find. The price point is a little high, but it is worth a try, especially for the Long Live The King, The King Is Dead fans.

BTW: Love the cigar band. Tony Bellato’s signature and “11:38.” Nice touch.
