Cigar Reviewed: Rocky Patel Fifteenth Anniversary
Smoked at: Carolinas
Rocky Patel seems to have a reputation for producing some of the boldest and smoothest cigars out there. And this one was no different. The 15th anniversary came in an attractive metal cigar tube and was double banded in silver and black. The wrapper was a nice dark brown color with smooth veins. The cigar was well packed and an examination of the foot revealed all the nicely and consistently rolled tobacco leaves in the center. The cold draw gave me flavors of rich tobacco and a little nuttiness. On light up, I got toast and coffee. As the smoke progressed it developed into a lovely espresso and dark chocolate with woody notes. Just a little spice and some light nuttiness. The cigar burned cool and long with an easy draw and ample ash. I must say that it burned a little unevenly and needed occasional touchups, but it didn't effect my enjoyment of this nice cigar. This is a very bold and flavorful smoke while still being extremely smooth. It seems to have gotten great reviews from CA over several years, and I would definitely look for it again.
