I’ll be honest. I didn’t expect much when I saw the price. But the presentation was a nice surprise. Wrapped in thin Spanish cedar with a green ribbon at the foot, it looked refined. I figured it might be trying to dress up something average, but it wasn’t. The cigar was well made, burned evenly, and needed no touch-ups. The draw had just the right amount of resistance.
The flavor opens with a smooth cocoa base and a hint of sweet earth. There’s a subtle creaminess that comes in early and lingers on the finish. About a third of the way in, I picked up some roasted nuts and a little dried fruit, almost like fig or prune. The retrohale gives you a mellow black pepper note—never sharp, just enough to remind you it’s there. By the final third, the cedar from the wrapper starts to show up, mixing with a gentle toast that gives the close a nice balance.
It’s a Cuban sandwich, but it smokes better than many long-fillers in the same price range. I got an hour and fifteen minutes out of it and stayed interested the whole time. I’ll revisit this one for sure. Solid flavor, steady performance, and well under the radar.
