Antihero War Machine is another Raymond Pages cigar - a box-pressed Nicaraguan puro with a Habano wrapper. Smooth oily deep dark brown Habano wrapper, dark enough to pass for a Maduro. The cigar sports an orange and white on black band.
Charred cedar, musty earthiness, pepper spice, and hints of chocolate and dark roast coffee. There are background notes of cinnamon, toast or hard bread crust and a honey taste on a puff or two. Sadly, the flavors are mostly muted. I’m getting precious little from this cigar. It’s medium-full bodied and medium-full strength.
Tight draw, opened up with a toothpick poke. Smoke output is minimal. The rest of the construction was excellent – even burn line and white ash that held to over an inch and tapped off on command.
I found Antihero War Machine to be just another mediocre cigar from Raymond Pages. I don’t get all the hype for this guy’s cigars.
BTW: How do you pronounce Raymond Pages? I have heard everything from Paw-Hays to pages like pages in a book.
