All Saints Dedicacion Habano

Smoked: All Saints Dedicacion Habano

Smoked at: West Chester, Ohio

All Saints Dedicacion Habano is sort of the sequel to the San Andres version reviewed last year. It’s box pressed and covered with a light tan Ecuador Habano wrapper with minimal veins.

Flavors open with cedar, musty earth, leather, cashews, dark roast coffee and sweet spices. Pepper kicks in midway through the first third but doesn’t overwhelm the other spices. I picked up some oak, orchard fruit (a bit syrupy) and more mixed nuts by the second third. I’d rate it a medium to mild-medium bodied, medium strength cigar.

Construction: loose draw but acceptable, fast burning cigar, decent burn line, solid smoke output, and flaky light grey ash. A few touchups were required.

It’s fairly well balanced, although a tad weak on complexity. I found the San Andres version a better experience, but the Habano was an enjoyable smoke.

Paired well with the Campbeltown Springbank 10 single malt scotch, which I highly recommend to Highland/Speyside scotch fans. Campeltowns can be hard to find but worth the effort.
