A Wallet-Friendly Wonder

Cigar Reviewed: Drew Estate Isla del Sol

I’ve enjoyed this cigar several times in the recent past and have never been disappointed. However, this review is about my most recent experience. And perhaps it’s an experience that some of you can relate to as well.

I met my two sons at a local cigar shop recently to enjoy some rare time together over a good smoke. I always told them, if you must choose one luxury in life, choose a good cigar. They are young adults just starting out with families of their own. Money as well as free time are at a premium.

They asked for my suggestion, and I recommended Drew Estate’s Isla del Sol. I joined them in the same selection. Great choice was a unanimous conclusion. The Isla del Sol has a hint of coffee that remains throughout the burn transition as the filler leaves are infused with Sumatran Mandheling bean coffee. For those new to cigars, a mild blend with a hint of sweetness often serves as an ideal introduction. The bonus is that these sticks are very affordable. As such, even on a limited budget, quality and good taste are not out of reach and my sons can come back for more.
