Hello, eveyone. I am new to the cigar world and have not had much experience in trying various brands, blends, and styles of cigars. Yet. M by Macanudo's Espresso cigar was the first full-size cigar I have ever tried, and my experience with it was so pleasant that I had to share my thoughts.
First off, I have never smoke cigarettes, and until recently I had never even tried a cigar or pipe. None of my closer friends are cigar smokers either. I have a couple friends who "vape", but there is nobody I know personally that has any decent knowledge of cigars. Since I had no clear source of knowledge, I turned to the internet and found a plethora of videos and articles (as most of you already know). After watching dozens of videos and considering the various strengths and flavors possible, I decided to give the M by Macanudo Espresso cigar a try.
After lighting and the first draw I was impressed by the quality of the tobacco. Recently before I had tried a few infused products, mostly cheap products, including a tin of mini cigarillos, and I was not impressed. Not like the Espresso. After a few more draws I could taste the creaminess and light flavors that were just beginning to hint on my tongue - cream, coffee, and a bit of chocolate. I kicked back and read in my book, thoroughly enjoying my first full cigar experience. About halfway into the cigar, the flavor notes did change. The tobacco tasted stronger, and I started also getting strong notes of pepper. It wasn't unpleasant, but I was surprised. I'm not a big fan of spiced scents, but combined with the other flavors, it wasn't too bad.
Someone once said that if you are not "feeling it" when smoking a cigar, then let it go out and try again another time. I smoked about three-quarters of that cigar before letting it go out. I don't want it to sound like I didn't like the second half of the cigar, because I did, but being new to smoking, I felt that the 30-plus minutes I had already spent was enough for the evening.
I would definitely recommend this cigar, both to those new to cigars as well as those who are more experienced. If you are looking for a cigar that is easy to smoke, has great flavors, and is in general a joy to experience, then the M by Macanudo Espresso is what you want.
