Cigar World's Artisan's Corner Interview with Stacey Bozeman of Smoked the Collection
Cigar World's Artisan's Corner Interview with Stacey Bozeman of Smoked the Collection
We have seen all sorts of accessories in the cigar space, but rarely do you see creations like Stacey’s at Smoked the Collection. Stacey Bozeman is the Co-Founder and CEO of this unique jewelry and accessories line, and we had the opportunity to chat with her at PCA. We knew we had to share this with you so that you can purchase yourself and/or your favorite cigar buddy one of these pieces.
Jean: Stacey, I am so glad to have run into you at PCA. Your items are so unique. Tell everyone, here at Cigar World, a bit about your company and how you got started with using cigar bands in your creations.
Stacey: Thank you, and I appreciate having you. Fortunately, what started out as a Christmas gift in the form of a cigar label-encased pendant from my sister to me in 2019, propelled us into a line of cigar wear with endless creations. We launched during Charlotte Cigar Week, and the response was tremendous!
Jean: One of the coolest features, in my opinion, is the ability to switch out the charms. How exactly does that work?
Stacey: We have several items that represent how most palates work, including my own. Some days I feel like smoking my old go to, which is The Judge by My Father. Other days I may feel like a Drew Estate T52 or a Midnight twist by Romeo Y Julieta, etc. The “Pick Me” line allows you to pick whatever your palate feels like on any given day, by choosing the cigar charm of your choice to wear on your bracelet, ring, or earrings. On some items, such as one of our bracelets, you are able to wear more than one kind of cigar charm at time. Either way, the person is able to easily pop a charm in, out, or slide onto their accessory.
Jean: Can we buy individual charms?
Stacey: Yes, all pieces that use interchangeable charms come with one of your choice, and you can purchase additional charms for $5 a piece.
Jean: What is the biggest-selling product from your line?
Stacey: Our biggest seller is our signature square or round bracelets. Each bracelet holds 7 to 8 slots which the wearer can request the labels of their choice. They fit any size wrist and they are unisex. This is the item that the lounges that do carry our brand carries. We initially started out just using cigar labels but other things came in demand such as logos and pictures or a mixture of all three.
Jean: Can we get a custom piece created?
Stacey: Yes, anyone can have a custom piece created. In fact, our tag line is “Wear what you smoke and smoke what you wear.’ You can request the specific labels of the cigars that you enjoy or the logo of your business. We also get alot of requests to have pictures of family members or of the person themselves in the bracelets.
Jean: Do you have a favorite piece that you have made so far?
Stacey: By far, it’s our number one seller, which are the cigar bracelets. Depending on the size of your wrist, you can customize each slot with the different cigar labels of the cigars that you smoke. The glass magnifies the artwork that each label possesses.
Jean: What would you say is your ultimate goal with Smoked the Collection
Stacey: My ultimate goal is to have our products sold and showcased in cigar shops and lounges around the world.
Jean: What is your favorite cigar right now?
Stacey: Right now I have two - the Amazon Basin and Comfortably Numb by Espinosa.
Jean: What do you like to pair your cigar with for a drink and music?
Stacey: I like to pair my cigar with a sweet wine; specifically, Stella Rosa Rosso Red Berry. My listening music of choice is Anita Baker.
Jean: Finally, how can we go about purchasing some of your items?
Stacey: Currently, the ordering and purchasing experience is more personable by design. You can go on my Instagram (Smokedthecollection) or Facebook page (Smoked The Collection LLC) and send us a message with your order. 2ndly, our products are in several lounges in a few states (NC, NV, IL, FL) with more coming this year. And last but not least, I’m always vending in a state near you, at which time I do take pre-orders. Please follow us on our social media pages to see what’s new and how people are wearing it!
Jean: I want to thank you again for your time, and I hope that PCA was a hit for you!
Stacey: PCA showed me so much love. It was great meeting and seeing so many people walking around wearing my pieces. I’m still getting notable orders from that weekend as we speak; one being an order we got from an Oscar Valladares rep who ordered 20 Island Jim ball markers for an actual golf event that Island Jim himself was having. With that being said, thank you for stopping by my table and offering me the opportunity to share our products with your audience! It was awesome meeting you!
