Cigar Reviewed: Oliva Connecticut Reserve

I'll preface this by saying I'm primarily a CT Broadleaf/Maduro smoker. I got one of these in a Churchill 5 pack sampler. I love the Serie V Melanio so wanted to try more from the line.

It's a mild to medium cigar, mainly hay and cedar in the first third. Had a slight burn issue in the first third I needed to correct but better to the second half. Some nuttiness comes in at the halfway on the retro. Lots of cedar in the 2nd 3rd. The burn is perfect. Lots of smoke.

To me it seemed to fit what I think of when I think of Connecticut Shade. Not my prerogative but good for what it is. Ideally I'd want a Connecticut Shade with more flavor. The hunt continues.
