CAO Bones and what!?

For this fourth episode of #MixUpAGoodTime, CAO has focused on bourbon as a chief cocktail ingredient, but with a clever spin that makes it great for an unconventionally warm October.

BONES X MINT JULEP

Why CAO Bones and a Mint Julep?

Besides Bones being perfect for the Halloween spirit, the woody sweet notes in the medium to full-bodied CAO Bones pair perfectly with bourbon, and really accentuate the minty crisp julep.

Don’t get us wrong, we know it’s a little unconventional to be enjoying a mint julep in October, but with this year’s warmer-than-usual weather we have to recommend giving this unlikely pair a try.

How to mix up your own mint julep

IF you’re looking for a crisp and delicious bourbon drink to pair with your CAO Bones, the mint julep is calling your name. Grab your favorite mixing bourbon and the ingredients listed below and get ready to #MixUpAGoodTime.

For a single serving, you will need:

  • 4 to 5 mint sprigs
  • 2 sugar cubes, or 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 2 1/2 ounces bourbon whiskey
  • Crushed ice

Then:

  1. Place all but one of your mint leaves, and sugar or simple syrup in a double old-fashioned glass - or whatever glassware you prefer
  2. Muddle to dissolve the sugar and express the mint
  3. Add bourbon - and maybe an extra drop for good measure
  4. Fill glass with crushed ice and stir well
  5. Throw that spare mint leaf on top for style points and enjoy!
