At Cigar World, we love the natural aroma of a premium cigar. However, we have to admit that cigars can leave a distinctive smell in their wake –– both in the air and on your breath. And not everyone appreciates the smell of old cigar smoke. On that note, today we’ll explain how you can quickly and effectively eliminate the smell of cigar smoke –– on your breath and otherwise.

Getting Rid of Cigar Breath

If we knew about it, we’d be happy to share a secret trick that would eliminate cigar breath forever. Unfortunately, the truth is that the best way to get the smell of cigar smoke off your breath is to go home and brush your teeth. Doing so twice a day is a good idea in any case. If that doesn’t work, try using mouthwash to expunge the smell.

Should you find yourself in a situation where you don’t have time to go home and brush your teeth, chewing gum or sucking on mints can help mask the smell of cigar smoke in a pinch. We’d recommend picking up a pack of gum to take with you whenever you smoke because you never know when it may come in handy. (Cupid works in mysterious ways, after all.)

Getting Rid of Cigar Smell in the Air

If you typically smoke indoors but want to reduce the lingering smell of cigar smoke, you can do so with relative ease. First, though, always ensure you dispose of your cigars correctly. Don’t try to crush or put out a cigar like a cigarette. Doing so will amplify and worsen the smell. Instead, just let the cigar go out on its own accord or put it out in water if you’re in a rush.

One of the quickest ways to reduce the smell of cigar smoke is to open the windows and improve ventilation. A little fresh air can go a long way. Next, wipe down all surfaces in your smoking room with a cleaning solution. Make sure to clean the furniture, walls, ceiling, and floors. In addition, you can also leave out several bowls of vinegar in your smoking room to cut back on the smell of cigar smoke.

Also –– and don’t forget this –– wash your clothes thoroughly after a smoking session to reduce lingering cigar smells.

In an ideal world, all of our friends, family, and romantic partners would enjoy the scent of cigar smoke as much as we do. Until that day comes, though, we hope these tips help cut back on unwanted cigar smoke smells! And for more articles like this one, sign up for Cigar World here
