Smoked: Crowned Heads Mil Dias

I forgot to post my experience in the AVO I smoked 2 nights ago and it was one heck of an experience. Notes of orange peel , sweet earth ,coco and spice.it was fantastic paired with a triple shot of hot espresso.

Well tonight I'm treating my Grandfather & I to a nice pairing.

I would like to think im a cigar Aficionado , but I am going to tell you now I do not know much about bourbon or scotches. Im just getting into whiskey. I really like buffalo trace and Blanton's but allocated whiskey is slim pickings in Philadelphia at MSRP. So yes, I want to treat me and my grandfather tonight, so I picked up a fairly priced bottle of O.F. 86. At $21.95 And we are pairing it with Mil Dias Corona Gordas! I hope I hit the mark on this pairing! We shall see!

      Im really blessed brother. He turns 79 March 1st. His mother (my great grandmother) her birthday was also on March 1st she had him on her birthday. He is her oldest. She would be 101

      Talk about a meaningful birthday present for your great grandmother!

      So, how did the pairing go? If you're new to whiskey, have you ever had a Manhattan? I had one yesterday with a H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon Robusto -- delicious. Two parts whiskey (that Old Forester would probably be a good one for it), one part sweet vermouth, and a few splashes of bitters. A maraschino cherry is often tossed in there, but I don't add those. I like mine on the rocks, too. Check it out. 😊

    I’m a big fian of Mil Dias but I’ve never had it in any other version other than the limited edition 2022 and 2023. Now the 2023 used Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper if I’m not mistaken, and was much better than the 2022. Anyway, enjoy your time with your Grandfather… good smokes… Good people=Great times!!!

      yes i got the recc from you. this looks like its either Ecuador habano or sumatra, im going with habano imho due to tasting notes. owner opened box in front of me so im not sure if its a newer box or not. anyways,,, its damn good!
