Caldwell Lost & Found Super Stroke

Smoked: Caldwell Lost & Found Super Stroke

Caldwell Lost & Found Super Stroke’s filler includes Nicaraguan, Doinican and Brazilian tobacco. It’s cloaked in a tad oily light brown Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper. The wrapper is smooth. Not so sure about the artwork on the cigar band and the 5-pack packaging.

Cedar, nuts, well aged tobacco, grassy, earthy, a touch of pepper, mild vegetable and herbal notes, and a grainy sweetness like a kid’s breakfast cereal – think Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes. The dominant flavors are wood and nuts with the other flavors doing a balancing act in the background. A mustiness is present on the final third. There’s not a lot of complexity, but the flavors, though basic and minimal, simple work well together. Smooth is the word that comes to mind. This is a very enjoyable smoke.

Construction: Loose draw, even burn, solid ash and ample smoke production.

If you’re a fan of Caldwell’s Lost & Founds with their aged tobacco flavors or if you like woody, nutty cigars, give Super Stroke a try. The only more wood/nut-forward cigar I have experienced recently is the Southern Draw Kudzu. This is in that ballpark.
