Cigar Reviewed: Oliva Serie V Melanio

Smoked at: Rochester, NY

5X52 Robusto

Smoking Time: 1 hour

Med-Full

This is my "go-to" almost daily cigar because it never disappoints. I make the aforementioned statement only referring to this vitola and wrapper.

1st 3rd: Notes of honey, golden graham, light to medium fresh brewed coffee, lingering white pepper spice on the finish to start the first 3rd. Effortless draw.

2nd 3rd: smooth with the spice picking up; it is progressive in strength. Notes of black pepper, leather and a more pronounced black breakfast blend coffee note. Draw continues to remain effortless and opens up even more as the cigar continues to burn perfectly razor sharp; allowing for plumes of smoke to fill the night sky.

Final 3rd: Smoked it to the nub until my fingers were hot. Cigar is med-full throughout with a strong full finish at the end. All of the aforementioned notes are still consistently weaving in and out. The cigar is now at its strongest in the home stretch yet, is still "refined." A true gentleman's cigar with a rich, well blended taste; never overpowers the palate with its spice and strength but it does walk the line. The smoke lingers and is chewable at this point with its effortless draw. Finishing with black pepper, leather and espresso beans. Some beginners may like the melanio robusto although, I feel the enjoyment of this cigar is more suited for intermediate to seasoned aficionados due to its strength and complexity. I would rate it a 94
