Cigar Reviewed: Cohiba Red Dot

I was expecting something less than a good smoke. I had been told (by many fellow cigar smokers who think they know more than everyone else) that any non-Cuban Cohiba is overrated.

When I hear: ‘I only smoke Cuban Cohibas’ I want to ask that person if they know they sound like a jackhole. We live in the US and have to deal with the embargo against that tiny nation…jerks.

Prior to the Red Dot, I had different Cohibas that were hit and miss with for me…for my taste. Example: Nicaragua = fantastic - Puro Dominicana = less than fantastic.

Is the price point high? Sure, but dang it was a good smoke.

And a good smoke is a good smoke.

The draw, burn and construction were on point and the taste was enjoyable.

It was a good smoke.

The flavors (around the earth and nuttiness profile) were nice and paired with my bourbon…it was a good Saturday evening smoke.

Recommend it.

I bought two of these – then was told how overrated it should be and planned to give the second one away – don’t believe the B.S. and judge for yourself. That second one is all mine now.

I liked it so much I added a photo taken on the wrong axis. (Just turn your head).
