Smoked: Aganorsa Leaf La Valadicion Connecticu

Smoked at: Sharonville, Ohio

Aganorsa Leaf La Valadicion Connecticut is a box pressed robusto. It’s a medium-full body and certainly more than medium strength - unusual for a Connecticut shade cigar.

Flavors include cream, oak, spice, mild pepper and earth. If there’s any nuttiness at the beginning of this smoke, it’s way in the background – trying to identify it is touch until about 5 minutes in when a combination of cashews and hazelnuts enter the show. The flavor is a rather basic, but they really work well together. It’s well balanced and more complex than the typical CT shade. This stick has more zest than you expect from a Connecticut. The retrohale exudes wood, earth and pepper, but it’s not an astringent retrohale for such a full flavored cigar.

Excellent construction - Perfect, cool open draw, smoke output is solid, no wrapper issues this time. This makes up for the construction issues I had with the Aganorsa Leaf maduro. I loved the flavors but couldn’t finish that cigar because the wrapper unraveled and actually unfolded at the burn line about halfway through the smoke. It’s nice to know that may have been an unhappy accident (what’s the antonym for serendipity?) with Aganorsa Leaf.
